About
The Full Story
Our rescue has been operating since 2019, born from a deep passion for animals and a commitment to making a difference. It all began when our founder and current president relocated from another state, leaving behind her role as Vice President of a well-established nonprofit organization. Motivated by her experiences and a strong desire to address the growing needs of vulnerable animals, she launched this rescue from the ground up—one step at a time.
Since then, we’ve grown steadily while staying true to our mission: to provide safe haven, care, and advocacy for animals of all shapes and sizes. We do not discriminate based on age, breed, or special needs. Whether it's elderly cats, kittens with chronic conditions, or misunderstood animals with behavioral challenges, every life matters to us.
A major focus of our work is supporting and managing the feral cat population, while also educating the public about conditions like FIV and feline herpes—two common but misunderstood illnesses that often make adoption more difficult for otherwise wonderful cats. We also extend our care to reptiles and small animals when resources allow, ensuring they, too, get the second chances they deserve.
Our logo holds special meaning—it features Dew, a kitten who touched our hearts deeply. Dew was terminally ill and passed away at just six months old. The image in our logo is based on a real photograph of Dew sitting in that exact mug. His memory continues to inspire our work and serves as a symbol of love, compassion, and dedication to every life we encounter.
Mission Statement
The mission of Cat Lady in Training Rescue is to support and reduce the feral cat population through Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) programs. In addition to TNR, we rescue cats in need, offering veterinary care, rehabilitation, and specialized support for those with unique or special needs. Our goal is to provide these cats with the opportunity for a better life, especially those who would otherwise face limited chances for survival or adoption. Through our efforts, we aim to make a lasting impact on the lives of both individual cats and the community as a whole.
